Degree Program

Florida Technical College - Network Administration w/ ProgrammingThe Associate of Science Degree in Network Administration/Programming is composed of a combination of courses, which provide entry-level skills in such areas as network design and administration and network programming. Course work emphasizes Windows, C++, and JAVA.

Occupation Outlook

Computer programmers write, test, and maintain the detailed instructions and programs that computers must follow to perform their functions. They also conceive, design, and test logical structures for solving problems by computer. Many technical innovations in programming-advanced computing technologies and sophisticated new languages and programming tools-have redefined the role of a programmer and elevated much of the programming work done today. Today's job market requires programmers who are skilled and trained in advanced programming concepts. Students who learn to design and implement advanced algorithm in C++ and JAVA will be qualified for entry level software development positions.

Training Objectives

This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of structured programming as well as language structure and capabilities. Students learn about program development including program definition, psuedocode, flowcharting, coding, testing and debugging. To practice programming skills, students develop C++ and JAVA programs to solve "real world " problems.
